RUSK-Services for Ruth Brunt Black, 95, of Rusk were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Noy Pruitt officiating.


Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery near Alto under direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home of Rusk.


Mrs. Black died Thursday in Rusk. She was born on Oct. 6, 1904, in Chickasha, Okla., and was a resident of Rusk for 57 years.


She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rusk and worked as a homemaker.


She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Rusk Chapter No. 79 where she served as worthy matron in 1964.


Mrs. Black is survived by her son, William David Black of Rusk; one daughter and son-in-law, Winnie Jo and Leo Elkin of New York City; one daughter-in-law Norma Black of Rusk; two sisters, Lois Spradling of Houston and Eva Lee Sartain of Rusk; sister-in-law, Lois Brunt of Tyler; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews.
