The following obituary appeared in the "Patriot-News" (Harrisburg, PA) on November 24, 2013:

Alberta B. Attick passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown where she was a resident for more than 10 years. Born in Royalton, PA on February 28, 1920, she was daughter of Walter and Marion Bryan. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyman A. Dellinger, Jr. and by David Attick, her second husband.

She graduated valedictorian of William Penn High School, Class of June 1938. Alberta was an accomplished homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and her children and grandchildren.

She retired as an admissions clerk from the Polyclinic Hospital. She was a member of Colonial Park United Church of Christ and a longtime member of the former St. John's United Church of Christ. Alberta belonged to the Capital City chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

She volunteered for the Red Cross at Polyclinic Hospital, the Dauphin County Library System, and the Masonic Home.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Parkin and husband, William of Harrisburg, and Susan Herr of Lancaster. Nelson Herr, her son-in-law also predeceased Alberta. Three grandchildren include Kathleen Sechler and husband, Jason of Rockwood, PA, William Parkin of Seattle, WA, and Bryan Parkin of Newton, MA. Great-grandchild is Annah Sechler.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Colonial Park United Church of Christ, 5000 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 with the Rev. Dr. Bonita Zobeck officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Shoop's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or the Dauphin County Library System, 101 Walnut St., Harrisburg, PA 17101.
