She was Mary Leanna Buchanan, b. May 1842 in Alabama and m. John Bangle on 26 April 1862 in Pontotoc county, MS (according to Mississippi marriage records). According to the US census report of 1900 for Downey CA she was the mother of 15 children. I've researched several of her children's CA death records and her maiden name of Buchanan is confirmed. John Bangle m. first Christina Barringer on 21 Jun 1840 in Cabarrus county, NC. Then his second wife was Mary Ann Miller m. 01 May 1844 in Cabarrus county, NC.
