Almand Bullard, 70, of Stone Mountain, died January 6, 2009. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 15, 1938. He was a long time resident of DeKalb County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Mae Bullard, father, William Ansley Bullard, and stepfather, V. Travis Wood. He was a member of the Decatur Presbyterian Church. After serving in the Army, he worked in real estate for over forty years. During that time, he was in sales with Carey Paul Ford and was a co-founder of an insurance replacement company, Colonial Replacement.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pennington Bullard, of 48 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kim Bullard of McDonough, Bill and Becky Bullard of Monroe, a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Patrick Fischer of Lawrenceville. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Drew Bullard, Nicole Bullard, Courtney Bullard, Kyle Bullard, Emily Fischer, Blake Bullard, Sarah Fischer, and Anna Fischer.

Early in life, he touched many lives while coaching sports and was president of Central DeKalb Youth Association. Through the years, he continued to enjoy watching his grandchildren in their sports activities. He was blessed with a lifelong group of friends, the Burton group, which he and Nancy enjoyed many trips and times of fellowship together.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Dr. Todd Speed officiating. Burial will be at Covington City Cemetery.
