A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Colleen Hay, 74, will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from St. Paul's Catholic Church. Rosary at 9:30 A.M. Fathers Martin Gillispie and Tommy Conway will officiate. Burial will be in the Burch Cemetery.

Mrs. Hay, a resident of the Golden Living Center, died there on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. She was born November 23, 1938 in Bremerton, Washington, the daughter of the late Hiram Jerome and Ida Gertrude Daniel Burch. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Russell Burch.

She had retired from Bell South Telephone as an installer and was a member of the BellSouth Pioneers. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church; a 3rd Order of Faith Franciscan; an active worker with the Walthall County Food Pantry for 12 years; and loved being outside on her farm.

Mrs. Hay is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Hay of Osyka; son Richard Hay and his wife Ruth of Summit; daughters Charlene Burkes and husband Dave of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana and Donna Lynn Hay of Cooksville, Maryland; sister Wanda Douglas of Tylertown; grandchildren Matthew Hay, Justin Hay, Elizabeth Herrin, Christopher Burkes and Andrew Burkes; great-grandchildren Kayley Herrin, Eli Burkes, Peyton Burkes, and Paisleigh Burkes; several nieces and nephews and special friend Louise "Ella" Hart.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hay, Justin Hay, Christopher Burkes, Andrew Burkes, Blake Herrin, and Paul Douglas.
