Born to the Burke family in Ohio before the turn of the 19th century she was the 9th child of 10. After the turn of the 20th century, Blanche or Pat" as she was known to her friends came out west and obtained her RN degree. She married Edmund F. Burke, a stern and controlling man and they settled in the Los Angeles, California area.A World War I RN who helped nurse injured American "Doughboy soldiers" returning from the ravages of war in Europe.

They had two daughters, Dawn Patricia and Phyllis and lived on a ranch in Altadena Ca.She and her husband Ed owned the "Trojan", a beautiful 75 foot yacht and took customer charters from California south down to southern Mexico waters in the 1920's. She was Irish Catholic and nicknamed "Gramma Pat" by her grandchildren. Grandmother of Christopher,Burke and Dana Bruttig and Michael,Shannon and Burton Jr. Yarnell. Upon retirement, they lived in the La Brea Towers condos in the Wilshire Blvd. area of Los Angeles where Ed (a life-long heavy smoker) died in 1963 from lung cancer.

Pat then moved to Lakewood,Ca. to live with her daughter Phyllis and her family. A "no-nonsense" early 20th century lady who liked kids and her grandkids. Died of natural causes at age 90 after a good long life full of fun! She was a demanding but nice lady.
