RITA G. ALTEN (nee Burkhardt), age 99, devoted wife of the late Gilbert I. Alten, survived by her son, Michael N. Alten; grandchildren, Michelle L. Simon (Jon), Thomas G. Alten and Nicole M. Alten; great-granddaughter, Ava N. Simon and her brother-in-law Eugene Lescher. Preceded in death by sisters Alma (Pat) Lescher, Mildred Krejci, and Thelma McIntyre, brothers Bob Burkhardt, and Bud Burkhardt. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the people who allowed Rita to decorate their homes. It was something she loved to do and she often involved her husband, Gib, in her projects to make custom pieces of furniture. A special thanks to Huntington Woods Care and Rehab Facility for their kindness and care of both Rita and Gib. Also Tridia Hospice for the comfort they provided at the end of her life.
Visitation will be at THE MCGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE 25620 CENTER RIDGE RD. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
