Uncle George was born and raised in Methuen but moved to Haverhill in the Ayers Village section in 1938. There, he ran a small farm with his parents before becoming a fireman with the Haverhill Fire Department. He was married to Paulene Avis Frost and had one child, Joanne. He was well known in the community and enjoyed lively conversations. Even after retirement, he enjoyed going to the station and hanging out with the boys. He had the cleanest garage on the planet! When I was little, we used to fight over who was going to get the crispy skin on the Thanksgiving turkey. Since he always volunteered to do the carving, it was usually him!
