Mrs. Bennett was born June 9, 1923, in Riverton and was a daughter of the late Don L. Burns and Mary C. Kile Burns.
She was a homemaker and Presbyterian by faith.
On Sept. 3, 1940, she married Kennie D. Bennett, who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1994.
She is survived by six daughters, Leona M. Conrad and Eva G. Kelley, both of Cumberland, MD, Sue C. Hinkle of Riverton, B. Mae Fisher of Lewisville TX, Mary Ann Simposn of Franklin and Wilma J. Crouse of Cherry Grove; two sons, Kennie Bennett, Jr., and James R. Bennett, both of Riverton; a sister, Anna Jean Simpson, Baltimore, MD; four brothers, Paul Burns of Mill Creek and Carl Burns, Curtis Burns and Charles Burns, all of Riverton; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Dr. Paul O'Gorek and Pastor Dan Ludwick conducted the funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at the North Fork Cemetery.
