Orfordville - Mrs. Agnes Burtness, 83, died at 11 p. m. Monday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Holden, here after a long illness.

Mrs. Burtness was born May 27, 1860, in Norway and came to America when she was 21. In 1883 she was married to Helge Burtness and nine children were born to them. One daughter died at the age of eight.

Survivors are five sons, Britten, Bayfield, Wis., Herman, Iowa, Eddie, Irving, and Harold Burtness, Orfordville; three daughters, Mrs. Liska. Milwaukee, Mrs. Holden and Mrs. Tillman Everson, Orfordville; 15 grandchildren, including four grandsons in the army; three step-daughters, Mrs. Anna Taylor, Brodhead, Mrs. Gus Dietz, Norfolk, Neb., and Miss Millie Burtness, Orfordville; two step-sons, Elmer Burtness, Orfordville, and Martin Burtness, Avon; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Orfordville Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Orfordville Lutheran cemetery.
