Marjorie O. Barney, 76, of Mexico, died peacefully at University Hospital on Sunday surrounded by her family. She was employed at Nestle' Chocolate Works in Fulton and worked in retail sales for Smithfield Foods in North Myrtle Beach. She was a member of the Palermo Methodist Church and the Palermo Senior Citizens. She was a child care provider in the Mexico area for many years. She devoted her life to her family and friends. Anyone that knew her, knew what a loving and caring person she was, always putting her children first. Her love for animals was never ending. Surviving: sons, Robin Barney, Santa Cruz, CA, Daniel (Julie) Barney, Mexico; one daughter, Jolene (Mike) Roberts, Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dawn Ryder, Palermo. A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday from the Palermo United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow at the church hall dining room. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Mexico, NY.
