S Burton Allison, 76, was born the son of James Philip and Eleanor Allison. He was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Tigers and Buffalo Bills.

He graduated from Westminster High School in 1938. Then received an Associate's Degree from Highland Park Junior College in Detroit, Michigan. From there he attended Westminster College in New Castle, Pa, graduating with his Bachelor's. He started teaching in Youngstown, Ohio while taking graduate classes

In 1951, he started working for the Erie Railroad, in Hornell, NY. It didn't take him long to meet the love of his life, Mary Sayles. They soon married and had two daughters, Martha and Nancy, and one son Stephen.

Sadly, Stephen died at 1 1/2 years. While they loved their two daughters dearly, Marys arms longed for another child. This desire was answered with their daughter Susan.

Mary soon turned her desires to God, so she could see Stephen again. When Nancy and Martha were grown, Mary, Burt and young Susan attended a church where they became Saved.

In 1985, Burton became ill with ALS, a 24/7 illness requiring around the clock care. Since Nancy and Martha were busy with their own families, Susan stayed at home to help her mothe. (She also was the lone caregiver during her mother's 10 year illness wilth Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma.) This also allowed Mary a chance to frequently see her grandchildren in Rochester

Burton, although missing his much loved walks, maintained a great attitude during his illness, always saying "I've had a good day." Burton went to Heaven, on July, 3,1995.
