His funeral service was Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Broadland United Methodist Church with burial in Broadland Cemetery.
Robert D. Bushfield was born June 16, 1916 in Grand Forks, ND, to Howard S. and Ann E. (Pownell) Bushfield. He attended the Nash Grammar School and Broadland High School. Robert married Ola Workman on October 5, 1950 in Hardy, AR. Robert spent his life farming, but spent his early years working at the Armour Meat Packing Plant and as a Trucker for a time. He was also worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and as a rancher in Montana and Stanley County, SD.
Robert was a member of the Broadland Methodist Church and the Broadland Methodist Mens Club. Bob was a charter member of the Beadle County Farmers Union. He was a member of the Broadland Cemetery Board for a number of years. Robert served on the Broadland, and the Nash School Boards. He enjoyed farming and horses.
Robert is survived by; his wife, Ola of Huron; son Mark (Mary Ellen) Bushfield of Hitchcock; daughters, Peggy (Jim) Curtis of Watertown, Mary Beth Bushfield of Watertown; 8 grandchildren, Tim (Kayla) Curtis, Tom (Emma) Curtis, Kathy (Joe) Waklee, Deb Curtis, Megan Bushfield, Adam Bushfield, Melissa Bushfield, Morgan Bushfield; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by; his parents; daughter, Lora Bushfield in 2000; son, Larry Bushfield in 1990; and sister Mira (John) Violette.
