Esther May Alexander, 91, of Fort Collins, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Columbine Care Center East. She was born May 22, 1908, in Fort Collins to Ezekiel and Josie Christmas Yattau Bushnell.
She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1926.
She married Herbert H. Alexander on July 11, 1931, in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Alexander was a telephone operator for Mountain Bell in the early 1930s. She tied fishing flies for local sporting goods stores for 20 years. She was a homemaker. She was elected to the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed horseback riding and was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets.
Survivors include two sons; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Rex Alexander; three brothers, Clarence Bushnell, Nathan Bushnell and Dale Bushnell; one sister, Ruth Kimber; and one granddaughter.
