Christine M. Byrd of Edgewater Park passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Virtua-Memorial Hospital in the Samaritan Hospice Unit in Mount Holly. She was 82.

Christine was born in Mannheim, Germany and had been a longtime resident of Willingboro and Edgewater Park. She worked and retired as an inspector for Methode Electronics in Willingboro after 20 years. Christine was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Willingboro. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Byrd Sr. and her sister, Ilse Carter. Christine is survived by four children, Christine Byrd-Weigert, Harvey Byrd, Wesley Byrd Jr., and Sylvia Byrd-Leitner; eight grandchildren, Aaron Byrd-Leitner, Alex Z. Byrd-Leitner, Robert Byrd, Renee Byrd, Joseph Byrd, Jacob Byrd, Harvey Byrd Jr. and Sydney Weigert and eight great-grand-children, Kaley Byrd, Samuel Byrd-Leitner, Porter Byrd-Leitner, Charles Byrd-Leitner, Hannah Byrd-Leitner, Rhyan Byrd, Owen Byrd and Payln Byrd. She is also survived by her siblings, Rudolph Pah, Karlheinz Pah, Fredrich Pah and Brigitte Gross all of Mannheim, Germany.

A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 4, at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 11 S. Sunset Road, Willingboro. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. to the time of Mass. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. at a later date.
