Zella Dora Cable Adkins, 81, of Maple Garden Apts., Dublin died early Tuesday morning Aug. 11, 1998 in the Carilion Radford Community Hospital. She was born in Proctor, N.C. on Sept. 9, 1916 ,and was the daughter of the late Ben Cable and Ida Cable Cable. She was also preceded in death by a son, Benny Ray Adkins. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pulaski. Surviving are her husband, Asa Adkins of Dublin; daughter, Gay Nell Webb of Dublin; sons, Grant Adkins of Massachusetts and Johnny Adkins of Pulaski; sisters, Katheline Bryant of Pulaski and Wilma Bladh of Charleston, S.C.; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski with the Rev. Fred Minnick officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from Stevens Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
