Charlotte was raised in Narcussic and Orlando, Florida. She received her BA from Rollin College in Music and became a Kindergarten teacher in Orlando. She married Byron Behrmann on June 1, 1943 and moved to Schleswig, Iowa during WWII while Byron was enlisted. She was an Elementary teacher in Manning, Iowa and also worked in the family grocery store in Schleswig. During this time they raised three children, Robert, Richard and David.
She was a member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliary. She was also an active member of the United Church of Christ women's group and loved to sing in the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron; her son, Robert; her grandson, William Behrmann; her sisters, Mary Cadman and Janet (Cadman) Sharpe and her brother, John Cadman. She is survived by her sons, Richard Behrmann of Carthage, NC and David Behrmann of Sioux Falls, SD along with 6 surviving grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa, on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 1 P.M.
