MULLINS - Mrs. Charity Calder Ammons, 61, of Rt. 1, Marion, died at a Mullins hospital early this morning. She had been in declining health for nearly a year.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline Herring Calder, she had lived in Marion County all her life.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. S. C. Metz, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Calder Family Cemetery on the Shep Edmunds farm.
She is survived by her husband, W. O. Ammons; two sons, W. O. Ammons, Jr. of near Latta and Pvt. Lewis S. Ammons of Camp Stewart, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. R. D. Moore of Charleston, Mrs. Howard Campbell of Marion, Mrs. Forest Snipes, Mrs. Woodrow Locklear and Miss Gloria Mae Ammons, all of Marion; one sister, Miss Elizabeth Calder of Mullins; and 13 grandchildren.
