Anthony Caldera KINGSTON Anthony "Tony" Caldera, 69, died peacefully in his home March 17, 2009 after a long illness. Tony was a life time resident of Kingston, attended Kingston High School and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School 1957, he attended Bryant University in RI. Anthony helped manage the family business, Calderas Supermarket in Kingston for many years. Tony spent summers during his youth in Jonesport, Maine, visiting with his mothers family and learning about the ocean. Anthony served in the US Coast Guard Reserve from 1960-1964, and was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years. Tony loved the Sea, and spent many hours on the ocean from Maine to Florida both pleasure fishing and commercial fishing. He passed his love of boating on to his own children, grandchildren, and friends. Anthony sold pleasure boats and commercial vessels for 30 years. He was one of the founders of the Green Harbor Tuna Tournament, a member of Kingston Yacht Club, and President of the Union Grove Club in Kingston. Tony was a devoted and avid NASCAR fan. When Tony wasnt on the water, he preferred to be near it, particularly at the family cottage on Saquish Beach. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his ability to enjoy life to the fullest. Anthony was predeceased by his parents; Helena W. Caldera and Anthony R. Caldera of Kingston. He leaves his Significant Other, Joyce Owens of Plymouth, three daughters, Heather Caldera, Debra Caldera, Kristin Wilson, all of Kingston, and grandchildren, Deirdre Perkins of Vermont, Bryan Perkins, Joshua Odell, Ashley Odell, Nathan Caldera, Michael Wilson, Leanna Wilson, Erica Wilson, all of Kingston. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 20th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106), Kingston. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
