SANTA FE - Mrs. Beedie Beatrice Bear passed from this life Wednesday morning, Aug. 1, 2001, in Galveston.

Born Aug. 22, 1910, in Bray, Okla., Mrs. Bear had been a resident of Santa Fe for over 30 years, previously of Galveston. She was a homemaker and a member of the Charity Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Livingston. She had also lovingly raised her grandson, Richard Bear, Jr., and her niece, Betty Mae Cornitius.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Otto Bear; sons, Richard Bear and Melvin Bartlett; daughter, Christine Holmes and grandson, Billy Bartlett.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jean Strain of Santa Fe; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with
Dr. C.E. Lott Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Galveston;

Casketbearers will be hergrandsons.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 State Highway 6, (409) 925- 3501.

Mrs. Bear's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at UTMB for their loving care shown during her illness.
