PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. - Jean Maclay Campbell died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. She is survived by her son, Dr. William Campbell, also of Ponte Vedra Beach, and her brother, Jack Maclay of Yorktown. Other survivors are her grandson, Christopher Rector, and great-grandchildren, Alex and Sydney Rector. Born March 9, 1925, in Newport News, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Ruth Smith Maclay. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. Susan Rector, and her sister, Nancy Garvey. Memorial services have been held in Ponte Vedra Beach and in Little Rock, Ark., where she lived most of her adult life. Inurnment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
