NEWPORT NEWS - Clay H. Campbell Sr., 71, a Peninsula resident for 65 years, died Friday, Sept. 17.
Mr. Campbell retired as a plumber and pipefitter from Union Local 540 Plumbers & Pipefitters. The native of Biscoe, N.C., was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife, Mary Etta Campbell; a daughter, Sandra C. Burton of Gloucester; three sons, Clay H. Campbell Jr. of West Point, Donald A. Campbell of Hampton, David Campbell of Newport News; a stepson, Wayne Brown of Grafton; two sisters, Jean C. Morton of Hampton and Mildred C. Spivey of Biscoe; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service 11 a.m. Monday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. G. Thornton Hall.
