Cecelia Jean (Turton) Campbell, 53, of Easton, beloved mother of Charlotte and Duncan, passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2012. Born in Orange, New Jersey, on April 4, 1959, Cecelia was the daughter of the late Margaret (Byrne) Turton and William Louis Turton, Jr. She was predeceased in 1989 by her brother, William. Cecelia earned her BS from Georgetown University and her MBA from Fordham University; she was a portfolio strategist for Wells Fargo Bank. In 1990, Cecelia married John Campbell, who predeceased her last year. They moved to Easton in 1992 and were extremely active in the Easton community. Cecelia was a member and past president of the Notre Dame of Easton Ladies Council, on the Notre Dame of Easton Parish Finance Committee, a member of the Easton Commission for the Aging, and a board member of Caroline House. She was also a member of the Easton Garden Club, the Easton Republican Town Committee, and was active in the Easton Lions Club. Cecelia was an avid sports mom, cheering for ice hockey, field hockey, softball, soccer, and crew. She also traveled to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina on a mission trip to assist with rebuilding and relief efforts. In addition to Charlotte and Duncan, Cecelia is survived by an aunt and several cousins. Survivors also include many close friends to whom the family extends heartfelt gratitude for filling the last several months with tender care and boundless love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame of Easton Church, 655 Morehouse Road, Easton on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Aspetuck Cemetery, Easton. . Friends may call on Friday (TODAY), December 21, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cecelia's memory may be made to Caroline House, 574 Stillman Street, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
