Mrs. Camp, widow of Merwin Gaylord Camp, died Monday, April 8, at Duncaster Nursing Home in Bloomfield. She was born in New London, July 8, 1908, a daughter of the late Alexander J. and Elizabeth (Fish) Campbell. She grew up in Watertown, moving to Middlebury during the 1940s, where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of St. Margaret's School, Class of 1925; attended Baldwin School and Bryn Mawr and was a graduate of Smith College, Class of 1930. During the 1950s, Mrs. Camp was a substitute teacher in the Middlebury school system and at one time was administrative assistant to the dean at The Taft School in Watertown. Mrs. Camp also was a retired Realtor, having worked with the former Arthur Kelly Real Estate Co. of Woodbury. A member of die Middlebury Congregational Church, she also was a member and past president of both the Smith Club of Western Connecticut and of the St. Margaret's School Alumni Association. She and her late husband were charter members of the St. Andrew's Society.
She leaves two daughters, Elizabeth M. Camp of New York City, and Mrs. Cornelia G. Mason of Simsbury; a brother, Henry C. Campbell of Watertown; a sister, Edith C. Pelletier of Southbury. and two grandchildren.
