Our treasured mother and wife, Julie Ballard, returned to her Heavenly Father on October 1, 2011. She passed away peacefully while scuba diving near West Palm Beach, Florida. Above all, Julie loves her eternal family. She chose to marry her sweetheart, Lynn Ballard, in the Salt Lake Temple and she loves her children and especially her grandchildren dearly. She has a passion for family history and has found thousands of her ancestors. Julie also loved to travel and to play the piano and organ with the ward choir. Julie centered her life on Jesus Christ. She constantly worked towards perfection and helped others to do the same, encouraging them to develop their talents. She was selfless, loving, full of charity, efficient, effective, and a hard worker. She had a great sense of humor and a love of life. Professionally, she has been recognized for her work in changing the way respiratory therapists care for patients with bronchiolitis and her outcomes have been reported and embraced around the world. More recently, her vision and reports have driven the care of pediatric asthma patients in Utah.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Ballard; her children, Nick Ballard, Lisa and Orson Porter, Matt and Katie Ballard, and Chris Ballard; her grandchildren, Sarah, Benson, Isaac, Elsie, and Lexi-Matilde; her parents, Max and Elsie Cannon; siblings Dave Cannon, Christine Cannon, Cathy Maurer, Eileen Healy, Cindy Davis, Mike Cannon, and Steve Cannon; as well as countless others who love her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 200 S Eagle Ridge Blvd, North Salt Lake, UT, with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
