Donna Johns Cannon, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away March 7, 2012. She was born Nov. 13, 1931, in North Ogden, Utah, and was a 13-year resident of Nevada. She served three missions for the LDS church, Texas-Louisiana (1955-56), Nauvoo Temple (2003-04) and Palmyra Temple (2006). She worked as a volunteer at the Las Vegas LDS temple for 13 years. She was a registered nurse who worked at Portsmouth General Hospital for 17 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Celia B. Johns; her brother; four sisters; and her grandson, Joshua. She is survived by her husband, of nearly 55 years, M. Kent Cannon; her baby sisters, twins, Janet Saunders and Joyce Elmer; her five children, Max K. (Kathy) Cannon, Peggy (Don) Christiansen, Bruce (Doreen) Cannon, Celia Phillips, and Melanie Cannon; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 877 N. Temple View Drive. A viewing will precede the services at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the North Ogden Cemetery, with a brief devotional service at Lundquist Mortuary in North Ogden, Utah.
