Albert married Mary Louise Pringle.

-Occupation: Gardener

-Cause of death: Railroad Accident

Albert C. Canova, former resident of Starke, suffered injuries which resulted in his death and two other men were slightly injured in a Seaboard railroad crossing accident at 13th and Pearl streets, Jacksonville, at 9:30 o'clock on Tuesday morning. The deceased was born and raised in Bradford county, has brothers here, and the news of his death came as a great shock to this community.

The late Mr. Canova was employed by the Jacksonville Park Commission and was riding on a city truck with two other city employees. As they started to cross the crossing a freight train, hidden by a box car on the switch, came upon them. The auto truck was demolished. Canova was knocked to the ground by the impact, his head striking the railroad track, fracturing his skull. His legs were also crushed. The other two men clung to the truck and in some miraculous way were thrown to safety.

An ambulance was rushed to the scene of the accident, but before Mr. Canova was placed upon the operating table at St. Vincent's hospital, he succumbed.

The train, Seaboard Air Line freight No. 780, was in charge of Conductor A. B. Harrison. It was driven by Engineer J. T. Morgan.

Canova would have completed one year's service with the city of Jacksonville on January 1. He resided at Henry and Canter streets in the Lackawanna section. He was a man of family and, according to St. Elmo W. Acosta, commissioner of parks, was one of the most highly regarded employees of the park department.

Up until a few years ago, the deceased resided in Starke. He was well known, a young man of good standing, high ideals and loved by all. That he should be called to his death so soon in life is deeply regretted by those who during his life in Starke, learned to love and appreciate him.

Paul E. Canova and E. E. Canova, of this city, are brothers of the deceased.
