ANKENY, Iowa — Earth's loss was Eternity's gain on Sunday, June 29, 2014 when Spook passed peacefully at his home. Per Spook's wishes his body has been cremated and a memorial visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Prairie Ridge Church in Ankeny with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7 p.m.
Spook, 78, was born October 31, 1935 in Austin, TX to John and Sarah (Rankin) Canova. He was a sportsman and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Spook is survived by his wife, Barb; children, David (Tammy) and their children, Lindsay (Nick), Jennifer and Melissa; Sara (Chris) and their children, Taylor, Sydney and Rylie; Dan (Dawn) and their children, Connor, Taitlyn and Paige; and two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Liliana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Horizon's Adult Day Center, Ankeny Dollars for Scholars, both at 406 SW School St. Ankeny, 50023, or St. Anne's Episcopal Church.
