Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Nancy was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Hannah) McElroy.
Nancy was a gourmet cook and enjoyed crafting and gardening. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Strasburg Area Women's Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Canova, with whom she lived, a son, Michael Scott married to Barbara Canova of Wyckoff, two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas and a sister, Jean married to Leland Caldwell of Raleigh, North Carolina. She loved her Amish neighbors whose children called her "their second Grandma."
The Viewings will be on Thursday, August 18, 2011, from 2 until 4 PM and again from 6 until 8 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. Private interment at the convenience of the family.
