Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Treba A. Canova, 80, of Holtville, who died Thursday in Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.

Chapel services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the mortuary. The Rev. LeRoy Jackson of Community Church of Imperial will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

Mrs. Treba was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Sallisaw, Okla.

She married D.C. "Doc" Canova in Reno, Nev., on July 31, 1945.

She was a rural mail delivery carrier at the Imperial Post Office for many years.

Mrs. Treba was an artist and an accomplished oil painter of desert landscapes, seascapes, mountains and animals, family said, adding she was involved in quilting and various crafts.

Mrs. Canova was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. "Doc" Canova, on April 22, 1988.

Survivors include her sons, Dwaine Canova of Scottsdale, Ariz., Gary Canova of Imperial and Michael Canova of Yuma; grandchildren, Heather Gazda, Amy Rubal, Steven Wells, Laura Whitson and Ryan, Stephen, Michelle and Michael Shawn Canova; and 15 great-grandchildren.
