Mrs. John F. Carey, sister-in-law of Judge Joseph M. Carey, passed away at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at her home, 2214
Capitol avenue. Death followed an illness of several months: during the final month she had been failing gradually.

Mrs. Carey came west many years ago from Fitchburg, Mass., to visit her brother, Dr. W.A. Wyman of Cheyenne. Following her marriage to Dr. Carey in 1889 they lived on the Carey ranch on Horse Creek until 1908, when they moved to town. Dr. Carey died ten years ago.

Dr. Wyman is the only immediate relative of the deceased but she was beloved by hundreds of Wyoming people.

Funeral services were held at the home at 2 p. m. Saturday, with Rev. John C. Blackman of Cheyenne and Mrs. W.B.D. Gray of Denver in charge.

Scores of friends of the deceased and of the Carey families gathered at the home to pay their last, tributes. The floral offerings were numerous. Acting as pallbearers were Warren Richardson, Maurice Groshon, J.J. Underwood, Dr. W.R. Day, George W. Snow and Justice Charles N. Potter. Mrs. W.H. Gill gave a vocal solo.

Following the services interment was made at Lakeview cemetery.
