The body of Tech Sgt Cyril Carmichael, 28, Mansfield soldier who was killed Aug 6, 1950 in Korea, was returned and brought to the House Funeral Home where arrangements for services will be completed. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery.

Notification of his death was received by the soldier's father, Clyde Carmichael, Russellville IN, former Mansfield resident. Sgt Carmichael was a veteran of WWII, having taken part in Army campaigns in Frances, North Africa and Germany. After receiving his discharge, he reenlisted and was sent to Japan in April 1949.

He was born Jan 22, 1922 and spent most of his life in the Mansfield community. After the death of his mother, he lived in the home of his uncle, the late Orvie Carmichael in Mansfield for some time. He is survived by his father; a brother, Wayne; and three sisters: Polly Carmichael, Mrs. Lawrence Windmiller, and Mrs. Raymond Beudry, all in Indiana. Another brother was killed in an auto-train wreck in Champaign about 10 years ago. He was a member of Kelso Garver Post.
