MRS. BETTY JANE CARROLL, 49, of 3619 Ardmore, wife of J.E. Carroll, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Connie Reynolds of 3795 Brookmeade. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. She also leaves another daughter, Mrs. Allena Williams of Collierville; a son, John Richardson of Nashville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Hewlett of Memphis; six sisters, Mrs. Maggie Chastain, Mrs. Madeline Roach, Mrs. Mary A. Faucher and Lt. C. Gale Hewlett (Shelby County Sheriff's Department), all of Memphis, Mrs. Myrtle Giannizzero of Bethpage, N.Y., and Mrs. Carolyn Martin of Hughes, Ark.; four brothers, Thomas F. Hewlett Jr. of Millington, Grover Hewlett of Kansas City, Mo., and Asst. Chief R. N. Hewlett (Sheriff's Department) and Franklin D. Hewlett, both of Memphis; and eight grandchildren.
