COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Dorothy M. Alcorn, 76, of Gray, formerly of Baxter, will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. in Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 2, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7
p.m., and Friday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Alcorn died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City.

She was born June 7, 1930, in Richmond, Va., to the late Leonard V. and Isabell Mae Adcock Carroll. Mrs. Alcorn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Johnson City and Double Springs Church of Christ. Mrs. Alcorn worked as a secretary for Teamsters Local 480 in Nashville for more than 20 years and was the former president of FCE of Elmwood and Chestnut Mound.

Her family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Mae and Jim Meeks of Gray and Marie and Thomas Ervin of Smithville; a brother and sister-in-law, Ross and Pam Carroll of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; a
nephew and his spouse, Kelly and Amy Carroll of Novi, Mich.; a granddaughter, Emily Lynn Bailey of Johnson City; three grandsons, Raleigh and Cody Meeks of Gray and Brandon Ervin of Smithville; a great-nephew, Nick Carroll of Novi; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alcorn was preceded in death by her husband and a niece, Jeannine Houtz.

Ronald Strong will officiate the services.
