Lena Rebecca Carter, 97, died Nov. 19, 2008, at Stuart Nursing & Restorative Care Center in Stuart. She was born in Inwood, NY, and has lived in Jensen Beach since 1966.

Before retirement, she was a dental assistant, bakery saleswoman and worked at Cuddleknit Sweaters in New York.

She played piano for the Methodist Orchestra in New York, for the United Methodist Women, and for Sunday school; she was a member of a senior citizens dance group at the Log Cabin; and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Jensen Beach since 1966.

Survivors include sons, Donald, Gene and Claude Rathgeber; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Jacob Rathgeber, Bob Renton and John Carter; and a daughter, Eva Ketchum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2121 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Jensen Beach. A service will be at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach.

Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach.
