He was influenced most by those he loved, his wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, and friends. David enjoyed the great outdoors, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He also relished the study of history and politics. When it came to politics, Fox News was his trusted source for current events. Above all, David was a man of strong faith in the Lord. His grandchildren can even recall his physical strength and agility which manifested itself in his ability to “squash a bumblebee with his bare hands.” The family will always remember his legacy as a family man and storyteller. He was a true example of humility and honesty to all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Carter and Christine Burgess; sister, Nancy Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Carter; son, David Carter, Jr.; daughters, Tracie Thibault (Jeremy) and Shuhanna O’Bryan (Dalin); grandchildren, Chad and Austin Carter, Seth Thibault, Carter, Reagan and Brooklin O’Bryan; sister, Laverne Malone (Larry); brother, Ted Carter (Dolly); and many nieces and nephews.
Those serving as active pallbearers are: Chad Carter, Austin Carter, Carter O’Bryan, Harvey Brents, Mark Carter, and Tommy Jennings, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are: Dalin O’Bryan, Reagan O’Bryan, Jeremy Thibault, Seth Thibault, Jonathan Carter, Bobby Franklin Jolly.
