BOYD, Mrs. Marian C., age 79, a lifelong resident of Dayton, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Shiloh Springs Care Center. A retired employee of the Jefferson Township School District after 38 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church where she served on the Stewardess Board & Missionary Society; a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, CSU Alumni Association, Yes We Care, Business & Professional Women. Preceded in death by her husband, Palmer L. Boyd, Jr.; daughter, Cassandra N. Boyd; parents, I. Norman & Mamie Carter; 2 brothers, Norman Carter, Jr., Rev. John Carter. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Spencer; son, Rev. Palmer L. (Beverly) Boyd, III, both of Dayton; 3 brothers, Robert (Leah) Carter, of Hemet, CA, Paul (Grettle) Carter, of St. George, UT, William (Jamelza) Carter, of Riverside, CA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Road. Rev. James E. Washington, Jr., Pastor, officiating. Interment Willowview Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Saturday at the church until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 North Gettysburg Avenue.
