LONG, LUCY DEW, Lucy Dew Newman (Roberts) Long, 72, of Winter Park, died Friday 13 Oct 2006. Survived by her sister, Dorothy Grace Turner, Greenville, SC; three children; Cameron Roberts (Cindy), Louisville, KY; Laurie Dew Roberts, Hollywood, FL; Victor Roberts (Susan), Orlando; and three grandchildren; Joshua, Rachel, and Gabriella Roberts; nephew, Harold Turner III, New Albany, IN; and niece Anne Turner, Nutley, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents, Lt. Col. Charles Carter Jr. and Dorothy Harber Newman; and first husband Larry Roberts. Lucy is also survived by many dear friends. Born in Commerce, GA, Lucy graduated early from Clemson HS, Clemson, SC and attended Winthrop College and the University of Florida. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, Beach Boppers Club, Elks Club and retired from the Social Security Office of Hearings /Appeals. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at Church of the Good Shepard - Episcopal, 331 Lake Avenue, Maitland, FL, 407-644-5350. Internment services immediately following outside at All Saints Episcopal Church, 338 East Lyman Avenue, Winter Park, FL, 407-647-3413. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
