She was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Mattoon, the daughter of Philo Roy and Irma Jacobs Parker. She married Charles H. Cartwright; he died in 1980.
Surviving are a son, Gary Cartwright;a daughter, Cindy Slaton; a brother, Joe Parker; and a sister, Barbara Waltrip.
