Milan Catlos, 81, of Elders Run Road, Gilpin Township died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002 at Kittanning Care Center, Manor Township.

He was born March 25, 1921 in Kelly Station, Bethel Township, to Michael and Mary (Brindger) Catlos.

Mr. Catlos was retired since 1983 from the Bagdad Plant of the West Leechburg Works of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. as a tunnel furnace operator after 37 years of service.

An Army veteran, he served with the 99th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division during World War II.

He was a member of the Forks-Zion Evangelical Luth-eran Church, Gilpin Township, and a former member of the church council.

His other memberships were the United Lutheran Society of Ligonier; Eagles Lodge 606, Ford City; and the Retirees of the United Steelworkers of America in Leechburg, where he was a former member.

His hobbies were gardening, tree budding, cooking, traveling and playing cards.

Since 1961 he was a resident of Gilpin Township. For 10 years, during the winter months, he resided in Lake Placid, Fla. Since March 2002, he was a resident of the Kittanning Care Center.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, H. Marie (Cochran) Catlos; one son, Michael M. Catlos of Bethel Township; one stepgranddaughter; and five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Berdell of Kittanning, Mrs. John (Irene) Mikeska and Mrs. Francis (Helen) Gondell, both of Gilpin Township, Mrs. Larry (Lillian) Yamber of Oklahoma Borough; and Mrs. Vincent (Ann) Cassese of Brook Park, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Edward and Albert Catlos.

CATLOS - There will be no public visitation for Milan Catlos, 81, of Elders Run Road, Gilpin Township, who died Sept. 21, 2002.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. Thursday at the Forks-Zion Evangelical Luth-eran Church, Gilpin Township until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Kevin E. An-derson, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forks-Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
