Louanna Banks, daughter of the late Hiram and Annie Vermillion Caudill was born in Letcher County, Kentucky, December 1, 1912. She entered eternal life Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 94 years, 3 months and 6 days at the time of her passing.
Louanna was the widow of Earl Banks and Oscar "Bug" Day. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Little Cowan Primitive Baptist Church. Louanna was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by a son, Edison Glen Banks, Sr. and wife Sue of Little Cowan, Kentucky; a daughter: Christine Gatton and husband Bob of Knoxville, Tennessee; a step-son: Mack Gene Day and family of Louisville, Kentucky; two step-daughters: Brenda Bentley and husband Meryl of Partridge, Kentucky, Mary Jane Bentley and family of Louisville, Kentucky and a sister, Elsie Banks of Little Cowan, Kentucky.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Louanna was preceded in death by a son: Ronald Earl Banks, sister: Gladys Caudill Pitts; brothers: Burnice Caudill, Edison Caudill, Cassel Caudill, "Little" Charlie Caudill and John Fleenor.
