In the 1850 LaRue County Census, Wm. Cessna was family 695. He was 68 years old, a Farmer, born in Pennsylvania. 2 Children lived at home: W. W., 27; and M. W., 24 years old. Also in the home: R. H. Fisher, 28, his wife, Margaret Fisher (Possibly a dau of Wm. Cessna), age 30. There were 3 Fisher children: Jno. C., 5; J. M., 3; and Tho. J., age 1 year.

He was the first representative of LaRue County in the State Legislature.
