JEANETTE BAKER

Jeanette C. Baker, 82, of Itasca passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth. She was born May 31, 1925, in Johnson County, daughter of the late J. A. S. Chapman and Lula Rigby Chapman. She loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress. She operated the B & C in downtown Itasca for many years. She also loved to crochet, do needlework and was famous for her baking around town. Everyone enjoyed her pies, and she will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl W. Baker; one brother, Leon Chapman; and one sister, Mozelle Ilfrey.

Survivors include: four children, Earl J. Baker and wife, Cindy, of Keller, Mary Beth Henson and husband, Leon, and Jimmy Baker and wife, Karen, all of Itasca and Jerry W. Baker and wife, Karen, of Files Valley; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice Chapman of Fort Worth and Herman Chapman of Sachse; and one sister, Lou Frances Wright of Alvarado. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel in Itasca with Rev. Tom Wood officiating. Burial was at Itasca Cemetery.
