AUGUSTA - Bertha Z. Ayotte, 93, of Graybirch Residential, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation at Graybirch. She was born in Notre-Dame-des-Bois, Quebec, on Nov. 26, 1919, the daughter of Edmound and Lumina (Poisson) Charest.
She was educated in St. Augustine School, and worked at Edwards Mill in Augusta and housekeeping at Augusta General Hospital for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ladies of Saint Anne, Daughters of Isabella and the Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Ayotte Sr., on Feb. 19, 2009; a daughter, Maryann Ayotte; and 19 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Theresa Cloutier, of Augusta, and her children, Theresa Chavarie and her husband, David, Albert Cloutier and partner Chris Royce, Angela Nelson and her husband, David, Lina Michaud and her husband, Mike, Adam Cloutier and his wife, Kelly, Lea Hennigar and her husband, Scott, Andrew Cloutier and his wife, Bonnie, Aaron Cloutier and his partner, Clara Junkens, Dianne Knight and her husband, John, and Rick Preshong; her daughter Pauline Lambert and her husband, Clem, of Augusta, and their children, Scott Lambert and his wife, Dominique, Tina Plourde and her husband, Bill, and Troy Lambert and his wife, Becky; her son Gerald "Jerry" Ayotte Jr., and his wife, Miriam, of Mechanic Falls, and their daughter Melissa Furbush and her husband, Wade; her daughter Donna Ayotte, of Tampa, Fla.; her son Lawrence "Larry" Ayotte, and his wife, Debbie, of Dresden, and their children, Sara Ayotte, Brent Ayotte and his partner, Jamie, Caylen Ayotte and her fiance, Kyle, Amanda Gagnon and her husband, Oscar, and Michael Neptune and his fiancee, Shilo. She is also survived by 37 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
