She married Arthur Alfred Bérube, son of Hormidas Bérube and Florida Beaudoin, on 7 Oct 1933 in Maine. Irène was widowed in 1990. Irène was also predeceased by 4 siblings: Marie Louise Charest Blanchette, Délima Charest Soule, Wilfred Charest, and René Charest. She died at age 94 and was interred in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
