Crestview - Retired U.S. Army, 21 years, Joseph (Skip) R. Charest passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 17, 2010, with family beside him.
Skip was born in Springfield, Mass., to Joseph and Edith Charest of Westerly, R.I. (both deceased). He was baptized Catholic by faith.
Skip's children, Bonnie (Ross) Carter of Destin, Fla., grandson, Ross III, Michael (Lynn) Charest of Atlantic Beach, Fla., granddaughters, Rachel, Kelly and grandson Carson, Patrick Charest of Harvest, Ala., granddaughters, Tina, Tiffany, Terri and Tabitha, Jacque Charest of Pensacola, Fla., grandson, Ralph (Dawn) Bryan, great-grandson, Bryson Hoffmann, Yvonne Charest of Destin, grandson, Salvatore Caligiure, Michelle (Michael) Funk of Pace, Fla., grandsons, Brandon and Ryan, Candy (Sean) Weiser of Gulf Breeze, Fla., grandson, Jake, and step-grandchildren, Josh and Lexi.
He is survived by his wife, Rolene Schescke-Charest, Phil (Kathy) Rooks (Jessica,Skyler,Cadence and Kimber; and stepson, Todd Pumphrey. The family wishes to thank Rana Davis for her compassion/care during his brief illness with esophagus cancer, and Covenant Care.
He was a member of VFW, American Legion, Elks and a lifetime fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers!
