"Hornell - Mrs. Flora Chase, 72, had been a member of the Schenevus Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, and Past Noble Grands Association, Schenevus Valley Grange, The Truth Seekers and Homemakers Club. She died early yesterday morning in St. James' Hospital, Hornell, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Potter Funeral Home, Schenevus, with Dr. Claude Hardy of Hartwick College, Oneonta, officiating. The body will be placed in the funeral home vault for later burial in Schenevus Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and tomorrow at their convenience. Mrs. Chase was born in Westford. Her husband, Grover T. Chase, died many years ago. She had lived in the Schenevus area all her life until a few years ago, when she moved in Canasteo, where she made her home with her son, Paul T. Chase. She is survived, besides her son, Paul, by one daughter, Mrs. Everett Goodrich, Schenevus; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews."
