The death of Mrs. Alice (Misson) Chase, wife of Emmett Chase, occurred Sunday night at 8:45 at her home in Pierstown, after a six-weeks' illness. Death was caused by the infirmities of age. Mrs. Chase was born in Cooperstown January 18th, 1853, a daughter of Moses and Susan (Spencer) Misson. She married Mr. Chase on May 29th, 1879, in Middlefield Center. The Rev. Walter Fry performed the ceremony. Most of her married life had been spent in Middlefield, and the last eighteen years in Pierstown. Surviving are her husband; one sister, Mrs. Louise Rouse; a nephew, Arthur Rouse, both of Cooperstown, and one cousin, Harry Spencer of Canajoharie. Funeral services were held from the home at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. H. M. Pease, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated. Interment was made in Lakewood Cemetery."
