"Mrs. G. William Chase. Mrs. Estella (Webster) Chase, wife of G. William Chase, died at the home of her son, Grover T. Chase on lower Main street, Monday night, on April 2nd, following an illness of several months. Mrs. Chase was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Nellis) Webster of Elk Creek, born in that hamlet, July 4, 1861, she being the only child to survive early life, her two sisters and a brother dying in their youth. On November 24, 1881, she was united in marriage to G. William Chase of Westford and their residence became Elk Creek where they owned a farm until nine years ago, when they removed to Schenevus, purchasing the E. J. Goddard property on Arch street, which has since been their home. Three children were born to them, Grover T. Chase, at whose home she died, Leta May, who died in 1922, and was the wife of B. F. Perry and Webster H. of Herkimer. Surviving besides the husband and sons are five grandchildren, Alberta Perry, Paul and Edna Chase of Schenevus and Betty and Charles William Chase of Herkimer, besides numerous first cousins ..."
