Mrs. Chavanne was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of the late F. Albert and Ida Mae Cooley Montville. She was the widow of Louis Chavanne. She was a member of Church of the Holy Family, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara A. Gulvin of Stem, N.C.; her two granddaughters, Beverly G. Ellis and husband Paul of Durham, N.C., and Debra G. Collins and husband Ray of Sanford, N.C.; her nephew, Al Montville and wife Jane of Newport News; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Church of the Holy Family by Father Thomas Quinlan. Burial will be at Princess Anne Memorial Park. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of the Holy Family, 1279 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454.
